Michelle Carbery
Michelle has been teaching Dance and Musical Theatre to students of all ages for over the past 16 years. She is one of the primary teachers at For the Love of It and teaches almost every student that comes to the centre as well as oversees the entire operation including all shows.
Michelle teaches all of the Dance and Musical Theatre classes (with the exception of Hip Hop and Tap) on a rotation schedule with other primary teacher Julie Kresta-Hay.
This year Michelle is thrilled to announce that For the Love of It is celebrating its 10 year anniversary! The centre has grown dramatically over the years and Michelle has now had the pleasure of teaching some of her students for an entire decade to this point.
As a professional Musical Theatre performer, Michelle’s credits include the Mega-Musical Beauty and the Beast, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat (with Donny Osmond), Little Shop of Horrors and Cabaret. Michelle has also performed as a dancer for recording artists M2M, Nelly Furtado and Jon Secada. Her T.V. and film credits include dancing in the T.V. show Wind at My Back and the films Superstar and Glitter starring Mariah Carey as well as several commercials.
To date, Michelle has professionally choreographed 10 different Musical productions: The Buddy Holly Story, Blue Suede Shoes, Spell Song, Once Upon A Mattress, Little Shop of Horrors, You’re A Good Man Charlie Brown, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat, Midsummer and For the Love of Its own productions of High School Musical and Hairspray Review.
Julie Kresta-Hay
One of the school`s primary teachers for the past eight years, Julie teaches most of the Dance and Musical Theatre classes (with the exception of Hip Hop and Tap) on a rotation schedule with other primary teacher Michelle Carbery. Julie is a seasoned professional dancer and mother of two. She has extensive training from Canada's most renowned ballet schools: Quinte Ballet School, The Royal Winnipeg Ballet, The National Ballet School, Lois Smith School of Dance, and is a graduate of the Toronto Dance Theatre.
In addition, Julie has also performed with The Ballet Jorgen Dance Company. Her many other credentials include performances on CBC`s Road to Avonlea tv show, the film Superstar, as well as tv commercials.
Jordan Setacci
Jordan is a true triple-threat performer. He is an incredible Hip Hop dancer, singer/songwriter and recording artist who can be seen in feature films, internationally known commercials, and music videos for various international artists. Jordan is an experienced teacher and has been teaching dance to students of all ages for the past 7 years. This is his second year teaching at For the Love of It.
Jordan’s credits include: So You Think You Can Dance: Canada promotional commercials, High School Musical [commercial/music video], MTV’s Save The Last Dance 2: Steppin Up, TV Film Felicity: An American Girl Adventure, Universal Film Honey, 2006 Much Music Video Award’s: Nelly Furtado’s Promiscuous Girl performance, Opening act for Destiny’s Child’s comeback tour, Keshia Chante: Solo Mobile/Ecko Red tour, Internationally known Commercial for “Kellogg’s Corn Pops”. He has also appeared in Music Videos for artists such as: Lil Mama, Fito Blanko, Carl Henry, Moneen, Shawn Desman, and Kyprios.
Jordan has been writing and producing a collection of songs. His signature production and songwriting style on ‘Neva Felt So Good’ received rotation on Toronto's Flow 93.5FM. ‘Got Me Like’, written and produced alongside Wiz Kilo, was entered in the prestigious ‘International Songwriting Competition 2006’, reaching the semi-finals (out of 15,000 entries from all over the world) and peaking in Top 10 European charts.
In 2008 Jordan is released his highly anticipated independent album “He’s Here”.
